LANCASTER — The Miami Trace varsity volleyball team began the 2017 with a tri-match at Fairfield Union High School, along with Sheridan.

The Panthers went 0-2 on the day with a 25-12, 25-20 loss to Sheridan and a 2-1 loss to Fairfield Union.

Scores of the sets against Fairfield Union were: 22-25, 25-19 and 25-23.

Sheridan also defeated Fairfield Union, 15-25, 28-26 and 25-21.

Erica Marshall led Miami Trace in kills with 14 in the two matches.

Dyamin Baker led the Lady Panthers in digs with 11.

Miami Trace is back in action Saturday at the Athens Invitational at Athens High School, beginning at 10 a.m.

The Lady Panthers have their home opener Tuesday against Chillicothe.

The j-v match is slated for 5 p.m. with varsity to follow at 6:30 p.m.
