The Miami Trace Lady Panther soccer team hosted Chillicothe for the SCOL lid-lifter on a cool, overcast Tuesday evening.

Chillicothe won the match, 4-0.

This is a marked improvement from the results when these two teams met last season.

Chillicothe out-scored Miami Trace in the two meetings last year, 23-1.

The Lady Cavs did not score until the 22:06 mark of the first half.

Chillicothe scored again with 14:11 to play and also at the 2:42 mark for a 3-0 halftime lead.

Miami Trace held Chillicothe to just one goal in the second half, that coming with 6:42 remaining in the contest.

The Lady Panthers had five shots on goal in the match, most of those coming in a flurry of activity in front of the Chillicothe goal late in the first half.

“Our team is vastly improved from where we were last year,” Miami Trace head coach Cailtin Zook said. “Even from where we were in the first game (Saturday, at Circleville) we’ve improved, so, that was very nice to see. I’m happy with their effort.”

Junior Taylor Barrett had 20 saves in goal for Miami Trace.

Miami Trace (0-2, 0-1) is off until Tuesday when they host another SCOL opponent, Wilmington, at 7 p.m.
