Lady Lion tennis blanks East Clinton

The Washington Lady Blue Lion tennis team rolled to a solid 5-0 win over visiting East Clinton in an SCOL match Tuesday at Gardner Park.

At first singles, Megan Downing defeated Allison Tong, 6-1, 6-2.

At second singles, Anna Nestor beat Marissa Williams, 6-4, 6-2.

Jen Richards won at third singles over Brooke Vineyard, 6-1, 6-2.

On the first doubles court, Sierra Dawson and Maria Pickerill beat Bre Davis and Courtney Groves, 6-1, 6-1.

At second doubles, Gretchen Milstead and Mackenzie Cress beat Sydney Michael and Hannah Pickering, 6-0, 6-2.

“I couldn’t be prouder of the matches my girls played,” Washington head coach Mitch Augenstein said.

East Clinton won all four of the j-v matches contested Tuesday.

At first singles, Yui Kobyashi lost to Courtney Groves, 0-8.

At first doubles, Aubry Leonard and Camryn Waldrop lost 1-8 to Shelly Michael and Kylee Hidy.

At second doubles, Ashton Carr and Kayleigh Elzey lost to Cassie Parks and Haley Harrell, 2-8.

At third doubles, Robin Courts and Chyna Cupp lost to Bella Walters and Bre Davis, 3-8.

Washington is at Circleville Wednesday and home on Thursday for an SCOL match against Hillsboro at 4:30 p.m.
