Lady Panthers beat Lady Lions, 23-3

On another beautiful evening to be outdoors, the Washington Lady Blue Lions softball team visited Miami Trace High School for an SCOL game Wednesday.

Miami Trace won the game, 23-3 in five innings.

Sophomore Maddie Mossbarger was the winning pitcher for the Lady Panthers.

She pitched five innings with six hits and three runs (two earned) with one walk and five strikeouts.

Senior Meghan Tucker took the loss for Washington. Over three innings she allowed eight earned runs, walking two, striking out two and giving up 17 hits.

Junior Trinity Ragland pitched a scoreless fourth inning for the Lady Lions with one walk and one strikeout.

Miami Trace had three players with three hits in the game.

Ashley Campbell was 3 for 4 with three runs and two RBI.

Jessica Camp went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBI.

Jordan Bernard was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and four RBI.

Kaylee Hauck went 2 for 3, scoring four times, driving in three and hitting a home run.

For the Lady Lions, Tucker was 2 for 3 with one run and one RBI.

Maddy Jenkins went 2 for 2 with one RBI.

Miami Trace jumped out with eight runs in the bottom of the first.

The Lady Panthers scored one in the second, while Washington put a run on the board in the top of the third.

Miami Trace scored 14 runs in the third and Washington scored one run in the fourth and one in the fifth.

Miami Trace is at Fairfield Union Thursday and home for a doubleheader against Amanda Clearcreek Saturday at 11 a.m.

Washington is at Unioto Thursday and at Clinton-Massie Friday.
