Dragons heading to State

On Wednesday night, March 22, the State-bound Fayette County Dragons hosted the local first responders Guns-N-Hoses in a charity basketball game at Washington High School.

The game was a preparation game for the State Tournament today at Bowling Green where they will face Geauga County at 6 p.m.

It turned out to be a fun-filled night for the families in attendance as the Dragons came out victorious defeating Guns-N-Hoses, 47-46.

The outstanding play of Tyler Wallace awarded him the Mike Baughn Memorial Player of the Game award.

In attendance to present the award was Baughn’s wife, Mrs. Debbie Baughn and their son, Marion.

For the Dragons, Wallace led all scorers with 27 points followed by Joe Curnutte with 8, Matthew Wilson with 3, Charles Cadamy with 3, Josh Rollins had 2, Matthew Daniels scored 2, and Shandon Shadburn with 2.

For the Guns-N-Hoses, Caleb McKinney led with 18 points followed by Colt Sever and Derek Pfeifer both with 8.

Chuck Stackhouse scored 6, Jason O’Dierno had 2, Mat Ellis 2, Butch Williamson 2, and Matt Pfeifer scored 2.

Tyler Wallace was also awarded Dragons MVP for the season by coach Brandon Runk.

In the j-v game the Dragons, coached by Jordan Adams, defeated the Ravens, coached by Raven Haithcock.

Matthew Daniels led the Dragons with 18 points and Karson Runk was the leading scorer for the Ravens with 6 points.
