Blue Lions fall to Cavs, 69-51

CHILLICOTHE — The Washington Blue Lions made the trip down US 35 Friday to Chillicothe to take on the Cavaliers in an SCOL match-up.

Chillicothe won the game, 69-51.

For the Blue Lions, sophomore Dillon Steward was the game’s leading scorer with 20 points. He sank three three-point field goals.

Senior Jarett Patton had 15 points, also hitting three treys.

Sophomore Richard Burns Jr. had seven points for Washington.

For the Cavaliers, junior Simon Roderick led four in double figures with 16 points.

Senior Seth Barnes scored 14, while juniors Branden Maughmer and Will Roderick both tallied 11 points.

It was a tough start for the Blue Lions as the Cavaliers charged out to a 23-5 first quarter lead.

The final three quarters of the game were even, both teams scoring 46 points.

At the half, Chillicothe was in front, 33-19.

At the end of the third quarter, it was Chillicothe 46, Washington 31.

Washington, now 6-7 overall, 4-3 in the SCOL, is at home against East Clinton Tuesday with the j-v game starting at 6 p.m.
