The Washington Lady Lions seventh grade basketball team improved to 9-0 Thursday, Jan. 19, with a commanding 58-6 win at Chillicothe.
Washington jumped out to a 19-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
The Lady Lions scored 31 unanswered points until the Lady Cavs connected on a free throw.
The half ended with the Lady Lions leading 36-1.
The tempo was still in Washington’s favor to start the second half as they outscored their opponent 14-3 in the third stanza to enter the fourth quarter with a 50-4 lead.
The Lady Lions were able to add 8 more in the final quarter to Chillicothe’s 2.
Leading the charge for the Lady Lions was Jeleeya Smith pouring in 24 points in limited action.
Haven McGraw got dialed-in for the second quarter scoring 11 of her 15 total points.
Aaralyne Estep and Mia Moats had six points each. Savannah Osborne scored 3 as Emily Becker and Mercedes Carner scored two points each.
The Lady Lions will be back in action Monday at 5 p.m. as they host Clinton-Massie.
