Ephesians 4:14, “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness whereby they lie in wait to be deceive.”
When Satan has tried to deceive us by getting us to fall into the grosses of sin and this fails, then he starts his campaign to get us confused and carried about by every wind of doctrine. There are many doctrines in the Word of God, and we need to study them.
Look at II Timothy 2:15, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workmen that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
The deception comes when Satan gets us, by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness, to exalt and magnify one doctrine of the Bible over another. This causes pride in the Christian life because those who fall for this deception reject those who disagree with their new found truth.
Let us examine the Word of God carefully and be not tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine!
