Time to examine yourself

0

I Corinthians 11:28a, “But let a man examine himself.”

There are many ways of examination. Let us look at a few.

The first is self-examination. This is when we examine the inside to see if we are right with God.

Look at II Corinthians 13:5, “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove you own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”

The Bible says if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. Let us be sure to take care of our own needs first.

We find the Lord exhorting us in Matthew 7:5, “Thou hypocrite first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”

Secondly, the church is a place to come and get an examination as compared to a hospital. Thirdly, the world will give you a cross-examination. That is, it will check you to see where you stand, what you believe about the things of God, and if you profess to be a Christian, the world will expect you to live it.

The last examination for the believer is found in II Corinthians 5:10, “For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”

Won’t you examine yourself today?
