Think it, speak it, do it

I have realized that our world is indeed created in our mind. If you set your mind to something, you will almost always accomplish what you are determined to do. It follows that you will talk about what is consuming your thoughts. I have heard that we actually can speak things into existence. That is something that many people might find hard to believe, but I have seen people talk about something long enough that they and others start to believe it.

On the other hand, it is easy to see the results of someone’s actions. Earning a degree, building a building, harvesting a crop, mowing the grass, etc., but does that visual evidence actually start in someone’s mind?

The bible starts out with a clue to the answer to that question.

Genesis 11: 4-6, And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole Earth.” But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of man had built. And the Lord said; “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they began to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.”

They thought it, they spoke it, they did it.

King David, a man after God’s own heart, fell because he allowed a thought to enter his mind through what he looked upon.

II Samual 11; 2-4, Then it happened one evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was beautiful to behold. So David sent and inquired about the woman. And someone said, “Is this not Bathsheba, daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite? Then David sent messengers, and took her; and she came to him, and he lay with her, for she was cleansed from her impurity; and she returned to her house. David allowed the thought, he spoke the order to bring her, and he committed a terrible sin. He thought it, he spoke it, he did it.

We must seriously consider what we allow to enter our mind through our eyes and ears. It can be the destruction of our lives or the beginning of something wonderful. Think the right thing, speak it into existence, and make it happen!

These are the truths that we look into at the Gathering Place every Wednesday evening at 7 and Sunday morning at 9:30 and 10:30. Think about coming, tell your family, and then join us. (think it-speak it-do it)
