Divine appointments we have with God

0

Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

You are reading this Book not by accident.

There are three divine appointments we have with God, and we need to be ready.

Amos 4:12b says, “Prepare to meet thy God.”

The first appointment is when God calls us to be saved and receive Christ as our Saviour.

When is that appointment?

It is found in II Corinthians 6:2, “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

You might say I will get saved when I am ready. No, you will get saved by divine appointment.

The second is death. Be sure we will die, so we had better get ready for that time. We have no promise of tomorrow.

The third divine appointment with God is the judgment. There are two judgments. One is for the Christian to receive rewards, the other is for those who did not receive the Lord and be saved. This judgment is called the Great White Throne Judgment and those who stand before God at this judgment are condemned to a lake of fire forever. If you have kept the first appointment, then you can be ready for the next two. But if you haven’t, you’re not prepared to meet God.
