For such a time as this

Our kids used to have toy cars that could be changed into men. They called them Transformers.

Romans 12:1 & 2, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

The scripture says we are to be transformed. How does a shepherd boy named David become the mighty King of Israel? Can you explain how a cup bearer named Nehemiah becomes a great leader and is the instrument that God used to rebuild the walls around Jerusalem? Of course, we bring to your attention Esther the Queen who was transformed for duty in a most important period of history.

I am talking about transitions in our life that exceed logic. These special times when God elevates a person and transforms them for the task at hand. Call it rising to the occasion or stepping up to the plate.

Notice what God is looking for when it comes to special assignments.

I Corinthians 1:26-29, “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;”

God takes the weak, base and despised people and transforms them into super natural heroes of the faith.

When I look at m humble beginnings and see what God has allowed me to have and experience I stand amazed. You see the great thing about our lives is that God has created all of us for such a time as this. I believe God has a job for us that will define our life that only we can do. When we read Hebrews chapter 11, we see God’s Hall of Fame of Faith. Heroes who were transformed to perform their special assignment.

Now the good news is that God is still doing this today with those who will yield themselves to His perfect will. As we present ourselves to God as a living sacrifice keep your eyes open for your, “such a time as this.”
