South Side Church of Christ holds banquet

The Mother/Child Banquet of the South Side Church of Christ was held recently.

Several mothers and children arrived at the chapel of the church for the welcome and prayer for the food given by Pattie Wells. Pattie then directed everyone to the family worship center, where the tables were beautifully decorated with flowers and all kinds of favors from Becky Crouch and other women of the women’s fellowship.

Also the men of the church were waiting to serve a very delicious meal, which consisted of salad, baked steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, cupcakes both white and chocolate with pink and white icing, and coffee and cold drinks.

Art Deakyne has put this meal together for several years and enjoys it and several other men of the church enjoy helping with the serving and clean-up. (Thanks guys.)

After the meal the mothers and children returned to the chapel where many door prizes were given by Becky and her friends.

Cathy Deakyne gave out flowers to the oldest mother, youngest mother and most children with her.

We were also blessed to have Amy Greer for the program. Amy serves as music and worship leader at Oak Grove Church of Christ in Kentucky.

Amy is also the grand-daughter of Phil and Carolyn Campbell. Amy really puts on an awesome program.

Teresa Combs gave the closing prayer.
