Give the Lord your best

Malachi 1 :8, “And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and the sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto they governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the Lord of Hosts.”

What the Lord is saying is that He wants our best not leftovers.

If you claim to be a Christian, the debt of love you owe the Lord Jesus Christ could not be paid back in a thousand lifetimes. So why should we give anything but our best?

Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

God demands our first fruits.

Proverbs 3:9, “Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.”

Will you give to God only spare moments and that which is not a real sacrifice?

King David in the Old Testament gives us a pattern to judge our giving found in 2 Samuel 24:24, “And the king said unto Araunah, Nah; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and oxen for fifty shekels of silver,”

Does your Christianity cost you anything?
