Use the time God has given us or lose it

Ecclesiastes 12:10, “The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.”

I can relate to that verse. My goal has been to encourage and to inspire others to make a difference with their lives. Use it or lose it is speaking about the time God has given us.

One day the time will come for all of us when time will be no more. Psalms 90:12, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” The old saying seems to be true that “the older you get the faster times goes.” We only have this life to make a difference.

One life to live -Need to live it to its fullest.

One life to give – Need to give all you can.

One time to walk – Need to make it a holy walk.

One chance to rear children – Must do it right.

One life to live for God _ Must do it for His pleasing.

One time to die – Must be ready.

Yesterday is a canceled check.

Tomorrow is a promissory note.

Today is the cash on hand.

We must spend our time wisely. Ephesians 5:16, “ Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

Notice seven spiritual things that can be done in this lifetime and not in the next.

1. Love and pray for your enemies.

2. Walk by faith not by sight.

3. Love God by enduring temptation.

4. Through love serve one another.

5. Layup treasure in Heaven,

6. Share the gospel with the lost.

7. Exercise your spiritual gifts.

Let’s be wide-awake spiritually for every day that God has given us. Romans 13:11-14,” And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”

We can waste so much time by complaining, fighting, being upset, and not being satisfied. Let’s leave the petty stuff alone. Psalms 118:24, “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Jesus is coming again, and we need to be ready. We should plan and work like He is not coming today, but we ought to live as though today is the day of His return. Titus 2:13, “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”

We have so little time to do the right things. Nobody to my knowledge has said on his or her deathbed, “I Wish I had made more money or had a bigger house.” You see, what is really important is what we should be investing our time in.

Let’s number our days and redeem the time so when we take our last breath this side of glory, we can say we gave it all we had.
