Getting Ahead: From Head To Heart

0

There are many things in our life that we know to do and do not do them. Some of these things would make our life better but we just do not take the necessary time and effort to work at them. We have knowledge of the right thing but that is as far as it goes.

On the other hand, most people can remember the crush you had for the one who eventually became your mate.

There was no lack of effort when it came to getting next to that special person. Nothing could stop you from being with them. You would plan your entire week around the moments you could spend together. You touched their hand and felt butterflies in your stomach and when you would try to talk to them you would be overwhelmed to the point that many times you would just say something silly.

These feelings are usually associated with youth, however, later in life people realize that they are more than a youthful crush; they are matters of the heart. There was no obstacle that could stop you from being with that one you loved.

It has been proven that matters of the heart drive us to action. Wouldn’t it be great if those things that would improve our life become a matter of our heart so nothing could stop us from accomplishing them? Where would that process begin, in your head or in your heart?

These and other life questions will be addressed Sunday morning as “The Gathering Place Family” meets in the Washington High School Gymnasium at 10 a.m. for our Pre-Service Connection where we enjoy coffee, juice and donuts. Our Worship Service and Children’s Church then begins at 10:30. Come at 7 p.m. and be part of our Wednesday night Bible Study and Children’s Ministry on the third floor above Trends at 120 West Court Street.
