“The Lord is my Shepherd”

Psalms 23:1 “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.”

Let us take a look at “The Lord is my Shepherd.” First, He is “Lord.” It is the Lord who protects us and leads us. Secondly, “is” means right now. Thirdly, He is “my” and that’s personal. Fourthly, He is my “Shepherd.” When I am tired He gives me green pastures; when I am weary. He stills the waters; when I need revival, He restores my soul. When I need guidance, He leads. When death comes, He will be with me. When enemies come, He will prepare a table for me before them. When I am wounded, He anoints with oil. When I need companionship, He gives goodness and mercy, and when I leave this world, He prepares a place in Heaven.

A little girl was to memorize and quote the 23rd Psalm, verse one. She quoted it like this: “The Lord is my shepherd and that’s all I want.”
