The New Holland United Methodist Women assembled at the New Holland United Methodist Church for their Oct. 8 meeting.
Ann Thompson welcomed all and Samantha Dunham gave “Country Pumpkin” devotions, followed with prayer. The secretary’s report was given by Betsy McFadden, and Pat Taylor gave the treasurer’s report. A special offering for World Wide donations to help adults and children to learn and know God and how He works was taken. Pay Taylor reviewed many countries in need of help in many ways.
Jodi Kirkpatrick and Nancy Davis presented the 2019 officers:
– President Ann Thompson, vice president Kay Oughterson, secretary Betsy McFadden, treasurer Pat Taylor, spiritual growth Janet Kirkpatrick, membership nurture & outreach Jodi Kirkpatrick, program resources Shirley Tarbill, nomination committee Nancy Davis, Jodi Kirkpatrick, communications coordinator Ann Thompson, social action Samantha Dunham, historian Shelly Seymour and sunshine Pay Taylor.
The new officers will be installed at the Dec. 13 meeting.
Pay Taylor presented the books available for the reading program. Shirley Tarbill sent the new email address: West Ohio UMW.org for reading books. Pay Taylor presented a program on United Methodist Women Prayer Calendar for the month of October.
The New Holland community will have Trick or Treat Oct. 25 at the church parking lot. Contact Samantha Dunham if you will be there or would like to donate candy.
The United Methodist Women’s Annual District Celebration will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Lancaster United Methodist Church, 2095 W. Fair Ave., Lancaster, Ohio. Fellowship gathering will start at 9 a.m. with the program for the day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
An outstanding program was presented by Samantha Dunham, “Advice from a Pumpkin.” She shared “Advice from a Pumpkin: Stay On The Vine, John 15:5, Be Contest As you Are, Phillippians 4:11-12, Be Outstanding in Your Field, Colossians 3:23, Trust God To Provide, Matthew 6: 25-34, Have A Thick Skin, Colossians 3:13, Keep Growing, 1 Peter 2:2-3, Think Big, Matthew 19:26. She closed the program with prayer.
Each member brought a delicious homemade pie and they were enjoyed by all after the meeting. The next meeting will be Nov. 13 at the church at 2:30 p.m. Devotions will be provided by Janet Kirkpatrick.
