New Holland United Methodist Women hold April meeting

The New Holland United Methodist Women held their April 10 meeting at the church. Samantha Dunham gave the invocation before refreshments were served.

Devotions for the afternoon, “Hand Prints of God,” were given by Samantha Dunham. She asked all present to do the following task: “Make a list of blessings and write a Job journal each day of life.” Scriptures read were Psalms 68:4, 22:13 and Isaiah 26:3.

Ann Thompson, president, conducted the business meeting. Betsy McFadden, secretary, gave the report of the March meeting. Members are needed to present devotions, refreshments and suggest programs for the upcoming meetings.

Shirley Tarbill presented an outstanding program from one of the reading books, “A House in the Sky.” The book was written by Amanda Lindhout, sharing stories about her world travels and how she was treated by people in other countries.

The annual Mother-Daughter-Friend Celebration will be held on Wednesday evening, May 9 at the church at 7:30 p.m. Kay Oughterson will present the program. Favors and decoration will be provided by Teri Kirkpatrick and Pat Overly. Hostesses will be Peggy Kirkpatrick, Nikki Sheets, Jeanette Somers, Shelli Seymour and Betsy McFadden.

Nancy Davis closed the meeting with prayer.
