First Presbyterian hosting ‘Blue Christmas’ service

0

On Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m., First Presbyterian Church will host a Blue Christmas service.

This service acknowledges that for those dealing with the grief of losing a loved one, Christmas can be a very lonely and painful time of the year. Through scripture readings, prayer, and song, the Blue Christmas service creates a safe space for attendees to express feelings and experiences that can appear to contradict the cheer of the Christmas season. It is a special time to come together in worship to seek hope in the midst of sorrow.

This service is open to all who may be experiencing grief and loss this time of the year. Whether you lost someone who was close to you or you lost your job or you are dealing with a scary diagnosis, the Blue Christmas service will offer you a moment of grace to acknowledge this loss and seek healing and hope through faith in Christ.
