A 26-year-old man was arraigned Monday on 10 charges of trafficking and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
Derrick Dequan Thomas, AKA “Nephew,” was indicted by a Fayette County grand jury Sept. 9 after an operation was conducted by the 23 Pipeline Major Crimes Task Force.
A resident of Hoover Avenue in Dayton, Thomas was indicted on four charges of trafficking in heroin, three charges of trafficking in cocaine, two charges of aggravated trafficking in drugs, and one charge of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
The indictment states that alleged sales of heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine took place in the vicinity of a school or a juvenile. The amount of controlled substances Thomas allegedly sold as described in the indictment are not of a bulk amount.
According to the Fayette County Prosecutor’s Office, Thomas turned himself in Wednesday. He is currently incarcerated in the Fayette County Jail with a $50,000 cash-only bond.
