The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce was on hand to help officially open and welcome Starbucks to Fayette County on Monday.

The store opened a few days prior at its location, 12490 State Rte 435 Northwest, Jeffersonville, near the Tanger Outlet mall. Manager Ashley Horning says the store will have six full-time and 12 part-time employees with hours Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 9:45 p.m.

Starbucks originally began as a single store in Seattle, Wash., that opened in 1971. Today there are over 22,519 stores worldwide, and each offers a wide selection of espresso, coffee, tea, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and lunch paninis.

The company offers its employees full health benefits to eligible full and part-time employees. They also have a college tuition reimbursement plan through Arizona State University online. All enrolled partners receive 100 percent tuition coverage to earn their first bachelor’s degree.

“We are pleased to add Starbucks to our roster of over 300 member businesses in the community and wish them well,” said Chamber director Whitney Gentry.
