Commissioners approve county contracts

The Fayette County Commissioners approved an agreement and contract concerning two county organizations.

The agreement was introduced by commissioner Jack DeWeese and seconded by commissioner Dan Dean. The agreement is with Columbus Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging for passport services from July 1 through June 30 of 2018. The Fayette County Commission on Aging will be the implementing agency. This agreement was unanimously approved.

The contract was moved by Dean and seconded by DeWeese to accept the proposal and enter into a contract with Harris & Leach Inc. The purpose is for scheduled maintenance on the county airport’s NDB and AWOS in accordance with manufacturers maintenance manuals and applicable FAA technical instructions, all required FAA ground inspections and unscheduled repairs as necessary in the amount of $2,200. The effective date is May 1 and will end on April 30 of 2017 and was unanimously approved.

The commissioners also approved a resolution in the matter of declaring 2017 dog license fees for one year, three years and permanent licenses. The commissioners authorized the Fayette County Auditor, and Fayette County Dog Warden to assist, to receive dog license fees for 2017 in accordance with Ohio house Bill 59 and subsequent payment to OSU College of Veterinary Medicine. One year dog license fees are $14 per dog, three year dog license fees are $42 per dog and permanent dog license fees are $140 per dog and kennel fee is $70.

Finally, it was moved by Dean and seconded by DeWeese to accept the closing documents for a real estate purchase. The purchase was for 215 N. Fayette St. from the seller HSBC Bank USA as trustee for Deutsche Mortgage Securities Inc. Mortgage Loan Trust.
