On Friday, June 24, the Charm-N-Farm 4-H Club toured Sugar Creek’s Washington Court House production plant.
The tour was led by the plant’s safety directory, Duane Litteral. The tour started with a brief history of Sugar Creek, where the club heard some surprising statistics. In its Washington Court House plants, they employ over 500 people. As a company, they have over 1,700 employees in six manufacturing facilities.
Litteral led them through the plant, seeing how turkey bacon, pork bacon, and bacon bits were produced. The facility’s sanitation director ended their tour with a short talk about the strict procedures for cleaning the facility each night, and the hectic rush to be operational by 5:30 a.m. Charm-N-Farm would like to thank Sugar Creek and Litteral for a wonderful tour.
