‘Big Blue Bus’ returns this summer

The “Big Blue Bus” is hitting the road once again this summer.

Featuring a hot and fresh lunch as well as a next day breakfast, children ages 2 to 18 can visit one of 10 locations across Fayette County for a free meal every Monday – Friday, from this week to Aug. 5.

Since its inception in the summer of 2019, Washington Court House City Schools’ Summer Food Service Program has served 358,707 meals for free to kids across Fayette County.

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE BIG BLUE BUS STOPS:

10:45 – 11:10 a.m.: Riverbirch Green, 1485 Delaware Street

11:15 – 11:40 a.m.: Rose Avenue Community Center, 412 Rose Avenue

11:45 AM – 12:10 p.m.: Eyman Park, 221 Eyman Park Drive

12:15 – 12:40 p.m.: Carnegie Public Library, 127 S North Street

12:45 – 1:10 p.m.: Hands of Christ Ministry, 301 W Elm Street

1:15 – 1:40 p.m.: Grace Community Church, 525 Glenn Avenue

1:45 – 2:10 p.m.: Christman Park, 1183 S Elm Street

OTHER FAYETTE COUNTY LOCATIONS:

WCH:

11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Washington High School Cafeteria Cafeteria, 400 S Elm Street

JEFFERSONVILLE:

11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Grace Meadows Apartments (by the pool), 467 Woodsview Drive

BLOOMINGBURG:

12:30 – 1 p.m. – Bloomingburg City Park, 80 West Street

SUMMER SCHOOL:

Breakfast and lunch will also be provided to all students participating in summer school at Belle Aire each day before and after classroom instruction.

The Big Blue Bus Summer Food Service Program is funded entirely by the USDA federal grant program and local partners, including SugarCreek Packing, McDonald’s of Fayette County, Cargill, and many more.
