Buckeye Land & Livestock 4-H club holds Feb. meeting

The members of the Buckeye Land & Livestock 4-H Club met on February 27, 2022.

The meeting was called to order by club president, Natalie Lindsey. The pledges were led by Cole Kirkpatrick and Audrey Campbell. Zander Ivey gave his secretary’s report and Catilin Cottrill shared the treasurer’s report. Members were reminded to pay their club dues, which are $30 per person.

In old business, club members were reminded of the enrollment deadline and upcoming Quality Assurance dates. In new business, the club discussed and voted to work the food booth at the Cattlefeeders Corral during the Jr. Simmental State Cattle Show to be held at the Fayette Co. Fairgrounds. Club members will serve food on Monday, May 30th, 2022.

Jocie Wilt gave her health report on How to Keep an Animal Pen Clean. Several members gave their demonstrations. Henry Meyer showed how to change a grease cartridge in a grease gun. Jocie Wilt and Casey Cottrill showed the different ingredients that can be found in cattle feed.

Preston Lucas and Cole Kirkpatrick showed what items are needed to show a pig. Austin Lucas shared what items are needed to show a goat.

The next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, March 13 at 5 p.m.
