Modern Woodmen, The Well hold skating party

0

Modern Woodmen of America, a fraternal financial services company that partners with members on community projects, recently co-sponsored a matching funds skating party with Altrusa of Washington C.H. to benefit The Well at Sunnyside.

Although it was not the best date since it was a warm, sunny, play-outside-day after a week with cold rainy days, kids and congregations came out to support The Well at Sunnyside, an ecumenical Christian ministry organized to provide relief to our neighbors in Fayette County. In spite of the low skater turnout, two very generous church congregations, First Presbyterian and Crossroads Christian Church, gave sizable gifts making the party a great success.

Altrusa, an international non-profit organization that strives to make our local communities better, provided event volunteers, promotional flyers, party prizes and rink rent so all funds raised could be doubled for The Well.

Event proceeds of $1,000 were matched by Modern Woodmen of America, raising more than $2,000 total for the badly needed freezer to support the community meals served throughout the week at The Well.

Shared values – yours and ours. That’s what makes Modern Woodmen of America, a fraternal financial services organization, different. Touching lives and securing futures since 1883. Built and owned by members. Together, we impact your community and what matters to you.
