According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

Oct. 11

Disorderly Conduct/Resisting Arrest/Obstructing Official Business: At 7:27 a.m., Dwight Vaughn, of West Kennedy Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to Kennedy for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Vaughn, who was intoxicated and was yelling at neighbors. Vaughn refused to quiet down and go inside, and was arrested.

Theft: At 1:16 p.m., Robert Penwell, at large, was arrested after departing CVS without paying for an item.

Passing Bad Checks: At 2:56 p.m., officers responded to Checksmart in reference to a fraudulent check they had received and cashed. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Menacing: At 8:08 p.m., a woman reported that a known male has been leaving threatening messages on Facebook. An officer heard the threatening messages and filed for an arrest warrant for the male. James Riley II was located and arrested on the warrant. Riley was charged with aggravated menacing.

Oct. 10

Assault: At 5:59 a.m., officers responded to the area of Washington Avenue in reference to a female asking for help. Officers located the female and she advised that she had been assaulted. Officers subsequently arrested Roy Perkins for domestic violence.

Oct. 9

Theft: At 3:49 a.m., Heather Ross reported that while at 1430 Columbus Ave., an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle. The unknown person stole a purse and then began using several credit cards.

Theft: At 3:22 p.m., officers responded to Walmart, located at 1397 Leesburg Ave., in reference to a theft complaint. Officers arrived and were informed by loss prevention that a male concealed merchandise and then departed the store without paying for the merchandise. Brydon Sains was arrested and charged with the theft. Parish N.K. Mcneal was charged with complicity to theft.

Suspicious Person: At 5:55 p.m. while on patrol, an officer was stopped by a citizen and was advised of a male who was passed out in a vehicle. The officer located a male inside and discovered that he was intoxicated. William Ruth was arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments.

Theft: At 8:47 p.m., officers responded to Walmart, located at 1397 Leesburg Ave., in reference to a theft complaint. After officers arrived, they spoke with loss prevention. Loss prevention observed a female concealing merchandise and then departing the business without paying for the merchandise. Angela Daniels was arrested for theft.
