Retired Teacher Association gathers for picnic dinner

The Fayette County Retired Teacher Association recently gathered for a picnic dinner at the Grace United Methodist Church.

They had a great turnout of members along with several guests, and welcomed newly-retired educator Matt Barga. Matt spent 34 years at MTHS, having been a math teacher and a counselor, with some wrestling coaching too. He and his wife Allison have two sons, Ethan and Connor.

Another new member, Sue Frump, former art, music, and English high school teacher, has also joined the group.

The group enjoyed good food, good conversations, and after dinner an excellent selection of sweet songs played on dulcimers by Fonda Fichthorn and Pam Anderson.

FCRTA President Karen Bernard held a brief business meeting and member Dick Glass shared some timely information about STRS. The retired teachers also were generous with their donations of money and supplies for the teachers and children of Fayette County.

They wish them all a great start to the school year!
