Modern Woodmen to hold supply drive

Modern Woodmen members will sponsor a supply drive during the next two Fayette County Farmers Markets to benefit the Brick House Community Homeless Shelter.

The markets the drive with occur at will be this Saturday — July 31, and the following Saturday — Aug. 7. Both will last from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The Farmers Market is located in the municipal parking lot on the corner of South Main and East East streets in Washington C.H.

Members will be collecting: toilet tissue, paper towels, trash bags, wash cloths, bath towels, laundry detergent, bleach, aluminum foil, Clorox wipes, Kleenex, baby wipes, diapers (sizes 3, 4, 5 and 6), canned goods, non-perishable food, deodorant soap, shampoo, conditioner and disposable razors.

The Brick House Shelter in Washington Court House helps any family that is facing homelessness in Fayette County. This includes: single women, children, couples with children, and single parent families.

The Brick House believes that recovery and building a new life takes time, commitment and support. The staff at the Brick House is dedicated to helping others build a strong foundation to live productive, self-sufficient lives.

Modern Woodmen improves the quality of life for members and the communities where they live, work and play. This is done through financial guidance and social, educational and volunteer activities. It’s all part of what makes it unique as a fraternal financial services organization.
