According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

July 24

Criminal Damaging/Theft: At 7:27 a.m., officers responded to Heritage Green Apts., located at 1001 Lewis St., in reference to a vehicle damaged and a theft. Elizabeth Adkins reported that she discovered that an unknown person busted her window out to gain entry into her vehicle. After entry was gained, property was removed from the vehicle. While officers were on scene, they located several other unlocked vehicles that had been entered and ransacked.

Theft: At 1:54 p.m., Gregg Adams reported that a known female was inside his apartment. Adams left his apartment and returned a short time later. Adams discovered that property had been stolen and that the female was no longer in his apartment. A report was taken.

July 23

Theft: At 10:56 a.m., Carol Wilson reported that during the overnight hours an unknown suspect entered her unlocked vehicle in the 900 block of Blackstone Street. The unknown person stole property from her vehicle. A report was taken.

Theft: At 4:46 p.m., Christian Stults reported that during the overnight hours an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle in the 1100 block of Gregg Street. The unknown person stole property from his vehicle. A report was taken.

Theft: At 5:17 p.m., Kevin Troute reported that during the overnight hours an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle in the 800 block of Blackstone Street. The unknown person stole property from his vehicle. A report was taken.

Theft: At 8:58 p.m., officers responded to Walmart, located at 1397 Leesburg Ave., for a theft complaint. While officers were en-route, the offender departed the area on a bicycle. Officers located the person described and attempted to stop the person. The male, identified as Shawn Harris, tried to flee from officers on the bicycle. He was stopped and arrested. Harris was charged with theft, obstructing official business, and an unrelated active warrant for his arrest.
