United Way of Fayette County is starting a new holiday tradition this year with a “Festival of Wreaths.”

“We are thrilled to share that we have some really talented and crafty folks here in Fayette County,” said Debbie Bryant, president of United Way of Fayette County. “The last several weeks, individuals, organizations and local businesses have made and donated a wreath to the United Way.”

These wreaths will be displayed at local businesses the week of Dec. 7-14. An auction will take place via Facebook with bidding beginning Monday, Dec. 7 through Monday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m.

“You may bid on Facebook or stop into the office and I’ll place your bid for you, or just call 740-335-8932,” said Bryant. “Wreaths are all different sizes and styles….something for everyone and they would make a wonderful gift. Just visit our Facebook page at United Way of Fayette County, Inc.”

All proceeds will benefit 25 Fayette County programs/organizations. Payment and wreath pick-up will be made in person at the United Way office, 133 S. Main St., suite 20, in Washington C.H., by Dec. 18.

The mission of United Way of Fayette County is to unite individuals and organizations in a collaborative, cost-effective effort to meet the human service needs of Fayette County.
