According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

Sept. 26

Criminal Damaging: At 12:13 a.m., Angel Jones reported a criminal damaging complaint. She advised that there was an altercation with Hunter Ballew, who shot at her vehicle with a BB gun. A BB struck the side of her vehicle, causing minor damage. Ballew was charged with the offense.

Theft: At 11:52 a.m., Loren Cartwright reported a theft complaint. He advised that sometime this month, unknown persons stole a large roll of steel from his building on Landmark Boulevard. A report was completed and a suspect was identified.

Theft: At 12:53 p.m., Cheryl Palfrey reported a theft complaint. She advised that sometime within the 24 hours before the call, unknown persons stole three rings from her residence. A theft report was completed.

Domestic Violence: At 1:56 p.m., a man reported a domestic violence complaint. He advised that while he was at his residence, his estranged wife, Diane Merritt-Shriner came inside. They got into an argument, at which time he advised that Merritt-Shriner struck him with a metal rod. A voluntary claim of domestic violence was completed and charges were filed.

Sept. 25

Theft/Criminal Damaging: At 10:28 a.m., Taylor Carner reported a criminal damaging complaint. She advised the rear window in her vehicle was damaged and the expired temporary registration was stolen, possibly by her ex-boyfriend. A report was completed.

Theft: At 12:22 p.m., officers responded to TSC in reference to a shoplifting complaint. The complainant advised that a male with a shaved head stole knives from the business and departed on a bicycle. A theft report was completed.
