The Record-Herald is hosting a free 90-minute seminar and luncheon Thursday devoted to growing local business through effective multimedia marketing, with acclaimed author and multimedia marketing expert Mike Blinder as the speaker.

The workshop will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce’s conference room, 101 E. East St. in Washington C.H.

Binder has helped more than 60,000 businesses find local customers, cost effectively using online marketing. His program, “Multimedia Marketing Secrets (for SMBs)” shows how advertising can be used properly in both traditional and digital media, applying some basic marketing approaches. He also presents these “high tech” concepts in a way that are “brought down to earth” so everyone can understand them.

Attendees will learn:

– What it takes to ensure success in advertising, regardless of the media used.

– What sponsored content is and why it is becoming so effective for small businesses.

– How to raise your results on Google and Yahoo to get found by those who are searching for your product or service.

– How to combine print, web, social media and mobile for increased results.

After building a career as a well-known 1980s radio and television talent in New England, Mike Blinder moved out from behind the microphone and camera to excel in media sales.

Blinder was quick to realize the importance of the newly emerging Internet phenomenon, and soon launched the Internet Sales Division of a leading media group. His career has grown exponentially since then, and he is now in high demand as a sales consultant for some of the world’s most respected media companies and corporations.

His unique approach to sales has been adopted by 60,000 businesses worldwide, and the Blinder Group has helped them bring their products – both traditional and Web based – to countless clients, established and new.

In the past decade alone, Blinder and his team have provided “on-the-street training” to thousands of sales reps, producing millions of dollars in sales. His “tried and true” sales methods continue to provide winning results, even with rapid changes in technologies, and even in the most difficult economic conditions.

Blinder currently resides in Florida, with his wife Robin, 11-year-old daughter Haven and “Golden Doodle” named Ginger. He is an avid boater living on the Gulf of Mexico.
