Congratulations to Fayette Christian School eighth grade student, Jenna Griffith, for winning the 2016 Hike for Hospice drawing contest. Jenna is the daughter of Jeremy and Julie Griffith.

Each year Hospice of Fayette County invites seventh and eighth grade students from each school district to submit drawings to be used on the front of the Hike for Hospice t-shirts. The winner receives a free entry and t-shirt for the Hike for Hospice as well as two one-day passes to Kings Island for the 2016 season.

“We had a wonderful selection this year. We were so pleased with all of the submissions and hard work that the students and their art teachers put into this project. It really means a lot to us,” said Holly Cottrill, Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator for Hospice of Fayette County.

“I thought about the drawing a lot before I began. The words hope, peace, and courage were a metaphor for me and my feelings about Hospice care. That really was my inspiration behind the drawing. I’m so excited to have my drawing chosen this year,” explained Griffith.

The Hike for Hospice will be held Sunday, April 24 at 3 p.m. beginning and ending at Merchant’s National Bank, 128 S. North St. in Washington Court House. Registration will begin April 1 and run through April 22. Registration is $10 for all ages and includes the event t-shirt and pizza and drinks following the event.

For more information on registration call the Hospice of Fayette County office at 740-335-0149 or visit the website at www.hospice-fayco.org. Hike Registration forms can also be picked up at the office, 222 N. Oakland Ave., Washington Court House.
