According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

May 14

Prowling: At 2:42 a.m., officers responded to a residence in reference to Austin DeFisher banging on the windows. As officers arrived on scene, DeFisher fled on foot at the sight of officers. He was apprehended a block away, at which time he was issued a citation for prowling.

Theft: At 4:33 p.m., officers responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting complaint. On arrival, officers spoke to the complainant, who advised that an unknown female stole items and departed the store. A report was completed.

Theft/Possession of Criminal Tools: At 6:58 p.m., officers responded to Kroger in reference to a shoplifting complaint. As officers arrived on scene, the male offender, Michael Newsome, was fleeing on foot. He was apprehended at KFC. Contact was made with complainant, who advised that Newsome and Loraine Trisdale were detained after they were observed shoplifting. While walking to the loss prevention officer, Newsome fled. Both were charged accordingly.

May 13

Failure to Comply: At 12:21 p.m. while officers responded to the Blue Stone Inn, Rex Jones was observed on a bicycle quickly departing the area. Because officers were unaware if Jones was involved in the complaint, they attempted contact with him. He then fled from officers on his bicycle while officers pursued in their police cruisers. After a short pursuit around businesses and knowing that he could not outrun a cruiser with a bicycle, Jones became tired and was arrested.

Criminal Trespassing/Drug Abuse Instrument: At 7:46 p.m., officers responded to the old Carlton Manor building at 726 Rawling St. in reference to people in the building. Officers checked the entire building and once on the third floor, located Sharonda Bellar and Ricky Snyder in one of the rooms. Both were arrested, at which time used hypodermic needles were located.
