According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

April 10

Burglary/Criminal Damaging: At 9:07 a.m., Anna Conger reported a burglary complaint. She advised that sometime over the past 24 hours, unknown persons forced entry into her home while she was away. The offender(s) stole and damaged property. A report was completed and an investigation began.

Theft: At 4:03 p.m., officers responded to a residence in reference to a possible assault. Contact was made with a woman who advised that she and her mother, Jewel Penwell, got into an altercation where her phone was knocked onto the floor. The woman observed Penwell pick up the cell phone, which contained money and bank cards, and depart. Penwell was later located and charged with theft.

Theft/Criminal Trespass: At 4:17 p.m., Jeff Bashor reported a theft offense. He advised that Clifford Morris trespassed onto his porch and stole a bicycle. Bashor confronted Morris as he rode away, at which time the bicycle was returned. Charges were filed against Morris.

Railroad Trespass/Resisting Arrest/Drug Paraphernalia/Drug Abuse Instrument: At 7:43 p.m., officers observed a male riding his bicycle on the railroad tracks. Contact was made with the male, identified as Justin Cox, who had an active warrant for his arrest. As officers attempted to arrest Cox, he began to resist, and after a short struggle, was secured. During a search incident to the arrest, drug paraphernalia was located. Cox was charged accordingly.

Littering: At 10:31 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and cited the driver for driving without a license. While on scene waiting on a wrecker to tow the vehicle for being unsafe, the owner of the vehicle, Elmer Smith, arrived on scene. Smith became disorderly with the officers, threw trash on the ground and refused to pick the trash up. Smith was charged with littering.
