Carnegie Public Library recently announced the addition of Kaitlin Cottrill as the library’s new Technology Tutor, courtesy of the Guiding Ohio Online grant funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the State Library of Ohio.
Kaitlin will soon begin offering free one-on-one and classroom style technology assistance to the Fayette County community.
Kaitlin was born and raised in Washington Court House, and is a 2014 graduate of Washington High School. Earning her bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University, and later her Master of Library and Information Sciences degree from Kent State University, Kaitlin has previously worked in libraries as a Public Services Assistant, where she worked with the public providing technology instruction and general customer service.
Community members are invited to make appointments with the Tech Tutor or drop-in to the Carnegie Public Library, Washington Court House on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., to receive assistance with smartphones and devices, computers, using eBooks, audiobooks and other library resources, creating email accounts and resumes, and much more. The Carnegie Public Library will also begin offering free public programs for the community related to cybersecurity, library databases, and library apps such as Libby, among other topics.
