Public Employee Retirees Inc. holds January meeting

The Jan. 22 meeting of Fayette-Madison Counties Chapter of Public Employee Retirees Inc. was called to order by president Suzanne Turner. The 12 members present stood and repeated the Pledge of Allegiance.

Legislative representative Jim Essman reported he had emailed the latest legislative report to all members. Discussion followed regarding the member benefits under consideration.

Treasurer Connie Watson reported the annual audit was completed with no discrepancies reported. She also advised the chapter dues are payable at this time. A motion was made to accept the report by Sylvia Hildreth, seconded by Marilee Peterson; report accepted.

Minutes of the Nov. 22, 2019 meeting were read by secretary Sharon Irons. A motion was made to accept by Penny Johnson, seconded by David Junk; report accepted.

President Suzanne reported a planning meeting was held and, also, advised the scheduled speaker for this meeting, Bonnie Mitchell, district representative, is unavailable today. Speakers and topics for the 2022 year: Washington C.H. Fire Department, Pat Brinkman, OSU nutritionist, Ohio State Senator Bob Peterson, Ohio Senior Health Program (OSHIP), Cheryl Royster, FCMH Social Services.

Health care benefits were discussed. Secretary Sharon will make reservations for those wishing to attend the March 19 Health Care Seminar in Chillicothe.

A motion was made to adjourn by David Junk, seconded by Patty Barton; meeting adjourned. Next meeting: March 25.
