According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

Jan. 14

Possession of Drugs: At 1:48 p.m., officers responded to Ohio Thrift in reference to two suspicious persons in the store who were possibly stealing. Contact was made with Samantha Catanese and Joshua Haygood, who were advised of the complaint. Both gave consent to search, and suspected narcotics were located on their persons. They were advised to depart and the drug charges are pending.

Protection Order Violation: At 3:10 p.m., a woman reported that she was contacted by Randy Ruth, whom she has a protection order against. Officers verified the protection order and observed the messaging from Ruth. Ruth was arrested and charged.

Theft: At 8:30 p.m., Shaleigh Adams reported that an unknown person stole a package from her porch on Jan. 6. A theft report was completed.

Jan. 13

Criminal Damaging: At 8:05 p.m., Cody Henderson reported that unknown persons busted the front windshield and rear window to his vehicle. A criminal damaging report was completed.

Menacing: At 2:35 p.m., Jordan Fraley was charged with menacing after he threatened a police officer while in the custody of the jail.

Breaking and Entering: At 4:31 p.m., Zachary Esau reported the theft of two dirt bikes and a four-wheeler from a building on Delaware Street.

Jan. 12

Theft: At 9:02 a.m., an employee of United Dairy Farmers reported the theft of merchandise from the store. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Theft: At 10:05 a.m., a resident on Gregg Street reported the theft of items from his vehicle.

Criminal Damaging: At 3:49 p.m., James Ross III was charged with criminal damaging after it was discovered that he damaged a tire and threw shampoo and kitty litter on a vehicle.

Theft: At 8:01 p.m., Bryce Shumaker was arrested at Walmart after he attempted to leave the store with merchandise he did not pay for.
