VFW and American Legion Riders taking coat donations

The VFW Riders Post 3762, as well as the American Legion Riders Post 25, recently announced their first annual coat drive.

The drive began Feb. 1 and will continue until Feb. 27. Donations can be dropped off at the VFW Post 3762, located at 335 Veterans Way, or at the American Legion located at 1240 U.S. Route 22 West. They will be taking donations of coats, hats, gloves and socks for men, women and children.

The VFW Riders will also be hosting a dinner on Feb. 27 at the post. The meal will consist of baked steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad and dessert and will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $5 for non-veterans or free if a donation to the coat drive is made, or if you are a veteran.

“Donations can be dropped off anytime at the VFW or the American Legion,” Mike Fenton with the American Legion said. “Please bring a donation and help support the community.”
