One of the highlights each year at the Fayette County Family YMCA is the Daddy Daughter Dance and YMCA employees are encouraging the community to attend the annual event.

The eighth-annual Daddy-Daughter Dance will take place on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the YMCA. The Daddy-Daughter Dance has been a huge success, with 200-300 people in attendance each year and this year’s dance is expected to be better than ever.

The theme for the dance this year will be “Boots and Bling.” Charley McCoy will provide DJ services and there will be a variety of decorations throughout the gymnasium, as well as door prizes, snacks and refreshments. Downtown Photography will be offering photo packages starting at 6 p.m. at the YMCA. Robin’s Nest Flowers is also offering a corsage and boutonniere package for $10 and may be picked up at the YMCA the night of the event. Order forms for pictures and the flowers are available at the YMCA.

The event is open to the community and tickets are $15 per couple and $5 per additional daughter. Preregistration is appreciated so plans can be made accordingly. This is a great opportunity for dads, uncles, grandfathers, or other special men in a girl’s life to have a night on the town. The dance is one of the events the YMCA has implemented as part of its goal to provide affordable family activities for the community.

“It is going to be hard to top last year when we had 267 attendees, it was a great time,” YMCA membership specialist, Tosha Larch, said Friday during an interview. “I hope Boots and Bling will help to provide a unique western feel with many cool decorations. All of those who attended last year, get signed up and bring friends, the more the merrier. Just be ready to come and have a good time.”

Registrations for the Daddy Daughter Dance are being taken at the YMCA located at 100 Civic Drive in Washington C.H. For further information call (740) 335-0477.
