The Washington C.H. chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International initiated five new members at its September meeting, keeping it at 121 members the strongest DKG group in the entire state of Ohio. The local chapter is proud to be celebrating its 80th year of existence, having been founded in the spring of 1939 as an honorary society to promote the professional and personal growth of key women educators. Pictured in the St. Colman Parish Hall are several sponsors and committee members for Membership & Initiation on the left, with the five new members—all active teachers—on the right, the latter holding their red roses and membership certificates. The woman in the exact center is Vice President Cathy White, who presided over the meeting in the absence of President Carol Waddle. Shown are (from left) Marty Burns, Shari West, Maggie Glass, Robin Dolphin and Katie Abbott; VP Cathy White; and new members Lindsay Burns, Mallory Bihl, Valerie Hawvermale, Kim Johnson and Kristin Preston.
