CHILLICOTHE — Marvin Jones takes over this week as the new chief executive officer of Goodwill Industries of South Central Ohio.
Jones was approved for the position by Goodwill’s Board of Trustees, Monday. He is the former president and CEO of the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce and former publisher and editor of the Chillicothe Gazette.
“We are excited to have Marvin as our new CEO where he will use his considerable leadership and management experience in moving Goodwill forward,” said David Tener, chair of the trustees of the organization that serves eight counties, including Fayette County, and has more than 200 employees.
“When this opportunity presented itself,” Jones said, “I didn’t have to think very long about becoming un-retired. As a former chair myself of the Goodwill board, I am proud to return as its CEO and am humbled by the trustees’ faith in me. I am anxious to get started working with the staff, our partner agencies and the community to improve the lives of the developmentally disabled in this area.”
Jones replaces former CEO Keith Alcorn.
