Eighth graders learn about the 1960s

As eighth grade language art students at the Washington Middle School prepare to read SE Hinton’s “The Outsiders,” they held “mini-lessons,” according to teacher Derrick Lyons to help each other understand the mindset of the 1960s from movies to the Vietnam War. Cameron Brown-Wilson talked about the variety shows from the 60s while members of his group (Alexis Coy, Wesley Hayes and Luke Marsee) tackled important movies, actors, shows and television in general.
