The Fayette Soil & Water Conservation District held its Annual Supervisor Election at The Fayette County Demonstration Farm on Tuesday, Aug. 13. This event was held in conjunction with the Southwest Corn Growers Field Day.

A public election took place to fill two seats as supervisor for a three-year term commencing on Jan. 1, 2020. Three people were on the ballot, John Baumann, Richard R Davidson and Jared Persinger. Davidson, an incumbent, was running for election to his fifth term.

Davidson and Persinger were elected to the board.

Persinger was nominated for appointment to the Board of Supervisors to finish the term ending Dec. 31, 2019 of James Garland. Garland resigned as supervisor following his 2018 election to the Fayette County Board of Commissioners. Persinger’s appointment was approved by the Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission on Aug. 1.

Residents and owners or renters of land in Fayette County had the opportunity to vote in this election since July 23. A representative of the Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission was on hand to oversee the election.
