Elks to host spare rib dinner this Saturday

The past presidents of the Washington Elks Lodge No. 129 will be sponsoring a special spare rib dinner on Saturday from 5:30 until 8 p.m.

The dinner will be held at the lodge at 277 S. Main St. in Washington Court House. The proceeds from the dinner will be applied to the Past President annual project of providing dictionaries to each third grade student in the local school districts; Miami Trace Local Schools, Washington City Schools and the Fayette Christian School.

This project provides nearly 300 special age-related dictionaries, which even in this age of advanced technology is a very helpful learning tool and greatly appreciated by the educators. Each student receives a personal dictionary which are all created, designed and made entirely in the U.S.A.

The dictionaries are delivered early each school year to provide the best assistance to the students and teachers. The fund raising event is open to members and guests at the lodge.

Dinner includes cole slaw and country baked beans. The cost is $10 for a half rack of spare ribs and $16 for a full rack. The meal will be made by guest chefs, Terry and Sandy Rodgers.
