Peters to speak at Chamber annual meeting

Matt Peters will be the keynote speaker at the 2019 Fayette County Chamber of Commerce annual meeting to be held Aug. 7.

Peters is the assistant director of the Ohio Development Services Agency, where he runs the day-to-day operations of the agency. The Ohio Development Services Agency provides public incentives in the form of grants, loans and tax credits for the relocation of large job-creating companies, a network of assistance centers to help small businesses grow, incentives to help minority- and female-owned businesses with access to capital, and oversight of federal funding for community development and community assistance.

Prior to joining the Development Services Agency, Peters served as the assistant policy director on Economic and Workforce Development for Governor John Kasich. He also worked in policy positions in the public and private sector, including as chief of staff for the Development Services Agency and as senior policy advisor at the Ohio Department of Commerce.

Peters is a graduate of the Ohio State University, originally from Bucyrus, Ohio, in Crawford County. He and his family reside in Gahanna, Ohio.

During the luncheon, the organization will recognize members for achievements in the following categories; Large Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, and Business Person of the Year.

Chamber of Commerce members, as well as members of the public, are welcome to attend. Tickets are on sale now for $20 per person. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Chamber office at 740-335-0761.
