According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

July 9

Underage Alcohol Consumption/Contributing to Delinquency of a Minor: At 12:22 a.m., officers made contact with Tiairra Thomas and a juvenile, who were sitting in a vehicle behind a closed business. Both were under the age of 21 and had been consuming alcohol. They were charged accordingly.

Disorderly Conduct: At 1:12 a.m., officers responded to Village Court in reference to a female passed out in the grass. Contact was made with Melissa Tackett, who was subsequently arrested due to being under the influence of drugs and her disorderly behavior.

Disorderly Conduct: At 1:42 p.m., officers responded to Village Court in reference to a female causing a disturbance. Contact was made with Melissa Tackett, who was subsequently arrested due to being under the influence of drugs and her disorderly behavior for the second time in the same day.

Attempted Theft by Deception: At 3:13 p.m., Sandra Foster reported that she received an email scam to transfer money to a Google Play card. The offender identified themselves as her boss from her current employer. She did not transfer the money and a report was filed.

July 5

Disorderly Conduct: At 7:43 p.m., officers responded to 626 Eastern Ave. in reference to a fire. During the investigation, Teddy Shepherd gave several conflicting series of events on how the fire was started. Shepherd was also very intoxicated and was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing official business.

Intoxicated Person: At 8:25 p.m., officers responded to the area of Belle Aire School, located at 1120 High St., in reference to a possibly intoxicated male. Officers arrived on scene and observed the male described by the caller. The male, later identified as Nicholas Hatfield, attempted to briefly flee and hide from officers. Hatfield was located and arrested for obstructing official business.

July 4

Trespassing: At 12:52 a.m., officers responded to 561 Leesburg Ave. in reference to a trespassing complaint. Officers arrived and determined that Stella Kinser had been previously informed by law enforcement that she was not allowed to be on the property. Kinser was also under the influence of alcohol and posed a risk of physical harm to herself and others. Kinser was arrested and charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct.

Theft: At 5:02 p.m., Darsit Patel, owner of Duncan’s Express Mart at 700 Campbell St., reported a theft. Patel advised an unknown male entered the store and departed with a bottle of alcohol without paying for the merchandise. During the course of the investigation, the male was identified and a warrant was filed for his arrest.

Suspicious Person: At 9:16 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Green Street in reference to a suspicious person acting erratically, possibly under the influence of drugs. Officers arrived and located Keith Lyons and Mila Edwards. During the investigation, Edwards was found to be in possession of hypodermic needles. Edwards was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug abuse instruments. Lyons was arrested for obstructing official business.

July 3

Traffic Stop/Trafficking in Drugs: At 12:27 a.m. while on patrol, an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. During the stop, officers requested assistance from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office K-9. A short time later, a deputy arrived with K-9, “Odra.” Odra alerted on the vehicle and a search was conducted. The subsequent search yielded approximately 75 grams of methamphetamine, two grams of cocaine, and 54 Xanax pills. Jaime Metcalfe, Juan Mclavin and Ryan Seymour were arrested and charged with various drug-related offenses.

Theft: At 2:37 p.m., a Home Depot employee reported that sometime within the past week, an unknown person(s) stole a trailer from the business.

Assault: At 10:24 p.m., Allen Landenburg reported that while near El Canon restaurant, located at 1381 Leesburg Ave., he was assaulted by a known subject. The assault was investigated, and Tyler Reed was subsequently arrested and charged with assault.

July 1

Suspicious Person/Drug Paraphernalia: At 10:21 p.m., officers responded to Village Court in reference to a male inside a vehicle passed out or sleeping. Officers arrived and located William Ruth inside the vehicle. Ruth was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged and arrested.

Disturbance: At 11:31 p.m., officers responded to the Fayette County Emergency Room, located at 1430 Columbus Ave., in reference to a disturbance. Officers arrived and subsequently arrested Cheronda Bellar for disorderly conduct.
