Fayette County Public Health recently released the following restaurant inspections:

June 7

Woodys Cafe, 222 N. Main Street. Follow-up inspection. Violations/Comments: No customers present at time of re-inspection to observe food handler wearing gloves. The women’s restroom cabinet is now clean and there was no observation of mice droppings. The person-in-charge sates that exterminators are scheduled to come inspect within a week. The cardboard boxes have been removed fro the shelf located over food preparation table. The overall cleanliness has improved. The reach-in freezer is clean and free of ice accumulation and functioning properly.

June 6

Subway, 19 Fayette Center. Standard inspection. Violations/Comments: The person in charge is not certified in food safety. Employees must be properly trained in food safety. One person per shift must be trained in food safety. Cooked eggs stored inside of the reach-in cooler in food preparation area was reading at 48 degrees Fahrenheit. The thermostat provided was reading at 48 degrees Fahrenheit. Perishable food held in a cold state must be 41 degrees Fahrenheit or below to limit the growth of pathogens. The eggs were discarded immediately. The cooler must be repaired, reinspected and deemed safe to store perishable food before continue usage. The fan guards inside of the walk-in cooler were found with an accumulation of dust. Mold residue was found on the pop machine drain area. Non-food contact surfaces must be cleaned as often as necessary to prevent accumulation of soil residue. The pop machine nozzles were found with an accumulation of food reside. Food contact surfaces must be cleaned to sight and touch. Ice crystals and blocks of ice found inside of the walk-in freezer. The kitchen floor, walls and vents were found with an accumulation of soil residue. The physical facility must be maintained in good repair and cleaned as often as necessary to keep it clean. Clean food containers were found stored under cardboard boxes in ware washing area. Clean equipment and utensils must be stored in a clean location where it is not exposed to dust or other contaminants.

Our Place Restaurant, 827 E. Market Street. Follow-up inspection. Violations/Comments: The ice machine is now clean. Non-refrigerated coffee creamers are now being used on dining tables. All previous critical violations have been corrected. Thank-you.

June 4

Woodys Cafe, 222 N. Main Street. Follow-up inspection. Violations/Comments: According to the person in charge, the previous standard inspection report was misplaces therefore a duplicate copy was provided and the re-inspection was rescheduled.
